Tom Cruise Wears High Heels
Everybody knows that Tom Cruise is a hobbit. According to numerous published reports, Tom is 5 feet, 7 inches tall and his wife-to-be, Katie Holmes, is between 5-feet-8 and 5-feet-9. NY Daily News noted that when the couple first went public, their altitude difference was sharp and clear. But on the red carpet at the L.A. premiere of Mission: Impossible III, Tom and Katie were exactly the same weight.
Cruise’s spokesman, Paul Bloch, insisted that nothing was out of the ordinary: “He had normal shoes on.” But the most plausible answer appears to be lifts — which, when built inside the heel of a standard dress shoe, can easily add inches.
This guy is shorter than my shortboard. It means I could take him out of the closet, make him jump on the couch like a monkey to entertain my guests, and then store him away conveniently. Tom would make a wonderful pet.

Reports say that Tom is 5’7″, but he’s really about 5’5″. Now that’s my idea of an action hero, someone who represents the lollipop guild. Considering how crazy the little gnome has been acting lately, I think wearing lifts is about the sanest thing the little fella’s done in a while.
