Mel Gibson is Clueless

mel_gibson_da_vinci.jpg

Catholic actor (and wannabe director) Mel Gibson has slammed ‘The Da Vinci Code’ book and movie for attacking the beliefs that he holds sacred. Mel, who directed the lame movie ‘The Passion of the Christ,’ has been outraged by the thriller’s controversial plot concerning Jesus Christ and Mary Magadalene. He says:

“What worries me is that people will take this as fact. I’m not angry, per se, that it refutes everything I hold sacred, the foundations of my beliefs. The Da Vinci Code is an admitted work of fiction but it cleverly weaves fact into maverick theories in a way that will appear plausible to some.”

Mel, you were kinda funny when you showed your ass in ‘Braveheart’ or when you had sex with Michelle Pfeiffer in ‘Tequila Sunrise.’ But those were the good old days. Now you’re pissing me off. I’m sick of those idiots complaining about a damn work of fiction. Do we hear so many people complaining about the work of fiction that is the Bible?

Hollywood is flooded with hypocrites. Nothing but double standards. Hollywood raised hell over Mel Gibson’s the Passion because it refelcted the zealots and jews of the time in what they thought was a negative light. But write a movie about a priest molesting little boys and they are all for it. How do you think hollywood would feel about a movie about a rabbi molesting a child??? You think they would back it up, even if it was a true account? I think not. This comment is just simply to show the double standards in hollywood. i am not speaking against any faith. I just believe in one standard for all. every single person has a right to stand against what they feel is injust, racial, slander. Why is it noble for other faiths to speak out against films that show a negative side to their faith, but it’s just considered pathetic when a catholic does it?? hmmm…. My faith is not the issue. I happen to like films that question faith and force people to look within for their own answers. No one religion is almighty above another. The Passion, in my own opinion, is one film out there today that I believe gives the closest to an accurate account of what really happened to Christ. The film showed the brutal and truthful part of his torture and crucifiction. Plus, he was Jewish, we all come from the same faith, so where’s the love?

the definition of irony. you’re upset that a movie ‘refutes everything you hold sacred’. great. we’ll show you the same sensitivity you showed the rest of the world with your anti-semitic piece of bdsm crap called the passion.

here’s the deal mel. i never protested your film being shown because i believe in free speech. so given that, you can shut the hell up now.

his comments are the equivalent of katie ron hubbard having post-partum depression.

“what worries me is that people will take this as fact”

what? you mean like how people took as historical fact that the jews ‘killed your lord’? shoes on the other foot now, huh hypocrite?

Mel was so much more entertaining when he was young, cute, and only spoke in movies. Now that he’s old and looking a good deal like a bulldog, he’s got way too many opinions. Mel, baby, we already have a Jerry Fallwell. We’re really not looking for another.

paycheck mel. remember when you were so baaaaaaad? I used to like you around the time period that maverick spoke of but dude, it’s a work of FICTION. I mean, this from you, who just basically made an antisemtic film and now go down to south/central america to exploit another group of people?

    Sweet Jesus, shame on you!

Fiction, that’s where I bought the book, fiction.

“Do we hear so many people complaining about the work of fiction that is the Bible?”

I hardly think you are an authority about the Bible. The Bible is not fiction, it has never claimed to be fiction, the Bible is the foundation I (and many others) choose to build my life on. Your beliefs are clearly not the same as my own, but out of respect and tolerance for others, choose your words more carefully next time. Mel Gibson, or any Christian/Jew/Muslim/Scientolist/etc. has the right to defend their beliefs and in doing so, he is simply choosing to live his life with integrity and a sense of purpose. As for accusing him of being anti-semetic - Jesus was a Jew! He was, in fact, a Rabbi. Christians and Jews alike share the Old Testament. The Passion movie shows Jewish men and women weeping when Jesus was crucified. Watch the movie and decide for yourselves if it is anti-semetic.
