Kevin Federline Gets Dissed by the Rap Community

As strange as it may sound, Kevin Federline’s debut on the Teen Choice Awards on Sunday is receiving less than stellar praise from the hip-hop community. On Sunday, K-Fed, who was introduced by a very pregnant Britney Spears, displayed his “amazing” rhyming skills by performing his new single “Out of Control.” Shockingly, the rap community mocked his rap-star ambitions. Elliot Smith, editor in chief of XXL magazine said:

“I just think we ignore him,” Wilson told The Associated Press on Monday. “He’s a joke, basically. … I just don’t think he gets it. He doesn’t get that he’s Britney’s man and it’s hard to take him seriously.”

Jermaine Hall, executive editor of King magazine, added:

“The thing that really hurts him is the fact that he’s perceived as Britney’s husband,” Hall, who had yet to see the performance, told the AP. “You know, kinda like Britney’s second - I don’t even want to say second in command, but - he’s like the Britney Boy. He’s like Mrs. Spears, and it’s kinda hard to get over that perception.”

Poor Kevin. His performance was so bad that even my grandmother was embarrassed when I surprised her watching the show on TV. I’ll post the video, but watch it when there’s nobody around, because people could think you are K-Fed’s second fan after Britney. And that would be a big shame.

Watch the video after the jump.

  1. Federline’s a genius. Hasn’t been anyone like him since the hayday of Sinatra.
