“The O.C.” stars Adam Brody and Rachel Bilson have ended their nearly two-year relationship as a celebrity couple. According to Life & Style Weekly:

The pair have been fighting breakup rumors all fall and have rarely been photographed together in the last few months. Both Bilson and Brody have been hitting the party circuit solo recently. A friend close to the couple tells Life & Style, “They are just done. That’s all there is to it. There’s no drama. They just ended it.”

You know, the problem with Hollywood couples today is that most actors have no real grasp on the intracies and cyclical nature of relationships. Actors bounce around movie scripts of impassioned, all-consuming sexy love, and then come home to find their wives sitting on the crapper reading “Reader’s Digest” at seven in the moring with Clearasil on their faces and just assume the magic is gone. And you know what? Of course it’s fucking gone. It’s called “magic” for a reason — it’s not real. An illusory state. Smoke and mirrors. The reality of the relationship is a husband parked on the couch with a Jack and Coke in one hand and “Up and Cummers 4″ on the TV and you curled up in the laundry room, crying and cutting your wrists and taking more Xanax. That’s true love, people. I have the marks to prove it.
