Paula Abdul Has Never Been Drunk, Done Drugs
Despite the 2,472 embarrassingly incoherent interviews Paula Abdul gave last month, the “American Idol” judge is still insisting that she’s clean and sober. She tells Us Weekly,
“I’ve never been drunk. I have never done recreational drugs. Just look at my 20-year career. Tell me someone who is into partying or doing drugs that could have done that. There have been 100 million lies about me. I’m squeaky clean. I’ve worked my ass off my entire life. Being involved in the show causes people to question everything. I have never missed a live show. Even when I had surgery on my hand, I left my hospital bed to go to the show.”
Her “twenty year career?” I thought it was more like five. Probably another unfortunate side effect of all the percocet she’s been gobbling. You might mix up numbers and forget what day it is and have trouble remembering the six years you spent downing Wild Irish Rose and sobbing through “Rush, Rush” on repeat while cradling a picture of Emilio Estevez and rocking in the fetal position. That’s how I spent most of the early nineties, anyway.

Okay, people, I totally agree that Paula is batshit crazy (AND doped up), she really has had a great career. She was successful as a dancer long before her hits of the early nineties. Let’s give credit where it’s due.

Actually, it has been a 20 year career, folks. Paula choreographed just about every 80s act, including the Jacksons when she was just 20 years old. Give the lady a break before slamming her. SUre, her hits are a bit dated, but they were hits…80s pop, sadly I was there. Her private pain? Yes, painkillers cause side effects but they’re required. She has had over 15 surgeries and she has a rare disease that causes constant pain to her nerves and sometimes she lost the ability to speak. If that still flares up, it’s a handicap, not the effects of a night out partying. Paula is a tough cookie who toured and danced with a broken leg. She pretty much had to give up dancing because of the disorder. She was also a plane crash survivor. Why don’t we go back to making fun of Lindsay Lohan? At least Paula wears her underwear in public.
