Allow me to put all of my usual hate and venom aside for just a moment to say that I absolutely adore Alyson Hannigan. I really, honestly do. I think she’s gorgeous and seems like a genuinely nice, down to Earth actress. Which is why it pains me incredibly to bring you these photos of her at the CBS season premiere party earlier this week dressed like a huge ass. Really, Alyson? The Cleopatra bangs and heavy eyeliner? Has anyone ever successfully pulled off that look?
And then the outfit — well fucking Christ I don’t even know where to begin. The dress — or whatever you want to call it — with the big plastic opaque rhinestones? Was it arts and crafts day down at the retard center? The dark nail polish and the heavy gold accessories? And then let’s just slap some knee high boots to tie the whole thing together, because why the fuck not? It sounds like somebody is getting a little big for her britches, and needs to go back and watch old episodes of “Buffy” to remember where she came from.

I adore Alyson, too - and How I Met Your Mother is one of the better sitcoms out there - very clever.
I think she IS pulling off the bangs & eyeliner - but the dress, YIKES! Horribly ugly. The big plastic stones are bad enough - but I REALLY don’t understand the white material behind….makes no sense whatsoever!
BUT - it’s still not as ugly as the green satiny squares dress that Victoria Beckham wore. (saw it on one of your Blogroll links the other day.) Did the rest of you see THAT?

She has always been ‘too big for her britches’ and was a real jerk on the Buffy set as an associate interviewed her and other Buffy cast. At least SMG was a consummate professional.
This is definitely not her best look.

I think Alyson looks great here. Yes, she’s following fashion, which helps with the getting work in Hollywood, but she’s also looking cute and stylish. I loved her on Buffy but the show ended 5 years ago people– It would just be sad if she was trying to look the same today. Besides, Willow was a role, not her life.

I think if anybody on the Buffy set could be described as a real jerk, it’s Sarah Michelle Gellar. Sounds like a total bitch. She didn’t tell any of the other actors/tresses that she was quitting, and they all found out in a magazine that they were gonna be unemployed after the 7th season of BtVS. And out of those two, Alyson’s the only one with the real acting talent so SMG doesn’t even have the right to be that bitchy.
But onto the topic at hand - Def. hate the dress. The bangs took some getting-used-to, but now I’m okay with them especially because she’s mostly using the side-swept ones. Other than that, she looks cute as hell and the boots are hot.
