Heath Ledger Cocaine Video

Celebrity news programs “Entertainment Tonight” and “The Insider” purchased exclusive rights to a cell phone video of Heath Ledger snorting cocaine at a Screen Actors Guild Awards party two years ago. According to Page Six

The footage, which was bought for $200,000, was shot without Heath’s knowledge at the Chateau Marmont hotel on January 29, 2006. In the video, Heath is shown talking while at a private party after sniffing a cocaine-like substance off a table with a rolled up bill in his hand. As he speaks, his face noticeably twitches. Heath says, “I’m gonna get so much shit from my girlfriend. We have a baby together… Matilda, Matilda Rose.”

ET and The Insider released a statement warning the media that they would be subject to lawsuits and fines should they choose to air the video:

THIS IS TO ADVISE YOU THAT ET AND THE INSIDER HAVE EXCLUSIVE RIGHTS IN AND TO PROPRIETARY MATERIALS OF HEATH LEDGER AT THE CHATEAU MARMONT ON APPROXIMATELY JANUARY 29, 2006

ANY BROADCAST OR USAGE OF THIS MATERIAL IN ANY MANNER NOT AUTHORIZED SHALL CONSTITUTE AN INFRINGEMENT AND VIOLATION OF ET AND THE INSIDER’S VALUABLE EXCLUSIVE AND PROPRIETARY RIGHTS AND WILL CONSTITUTE INFRINGEMENT AND TORTIOUS INTERFERENCE BY THE INFRINGER, EXPOSING THE INFRINGER TO SUBSTANTIAL MONETARY DAMAGES.

And that’s when the producer dipped a fountain pen inside the hole where his heart used to be, signed his name in blood and handed the devil an “I.O.U. — One Soul.” Well-done, tabloid journalism!

UPDATE: ET and The Insider have decided NOT to air the video due to public response.

So they spend a week plus extolling his personality and talent, yet decide they have the exclusive right to tear down the facade they just created? KUDOS! Someone at CBS needs a raise. I mean don’t get me wrong, any exclusive agreement should have included Abby, but it’ll be youtubed shortly anyway.

  2. abby

    Totally agreed, Rich.

  3. p0nk

how could that masseuse have overlooked that rolled up $20 when sweeping the apt for drug paraphanelia before calling 911?

  4. nordo

Yes, I agree…a raise and maybe it is the same person who got Gonads ‘exclusive’ interview on his soul mate Brit Brit? Then a bonus would be in store too.

  5. spatz

    Perfectly put RichPort.
the media does love creating people and then send them crashing down don’t they? I bet there were lots of high fives going around the office when word spread that heath died. Its too bad to do that to somebody who isn’t around to defend themselves, or explain. Instead of just letting him be gone they have to shit all over his memory and fuck with his family. thats cold!

  6. RichPort

HAHAHAHA p0nk… I know when I used to clean houses any money left around was considered fair game. Ok, fine, I used to clean out houses, and I was never invited, and it was dark, and they were usually on vacation, but you get my basic point…

  7. Italian Stallion

What a fucked up world we live in…..

RichaRico gives a new meaning to “dust buster”………

  8. RichPort

Italia, lemme know if you need a cleaning service and when you’ll be out of town…

Heath Ledger was a well known coke head who started mixing it with heroin and downers. Ledger died of a drug overdose. His personal habits were no better than those of Spears or Lohan. They’re all massive coke heads. Stop idolizing these disgusting hollywood drug users. If they choose to use drugs, there is NOTHING sad about their death - they brought in on themselves.

  10. fabess

thats fucked up rachel, its not only an addiction its a disease its clear youve never suffered from one. Also, you talk about these people like you know them lol there regular people to you know, minus spears of course, and they have family just like us. if this wasnt a celebrity you would feel sorry for the people who truley loved him but i mean its a celebrity and because you cant relate to that person you feel that you have some right to bash them. not to far off am i?

  11. PortSniper

Fabless anyone that does not help themselves after all of there loved ones has tried is not worth anyones tears, Rachel is right, why idiolize people that are ruining there lives, people look down apon drug addicts when they see them in the streets, yet when there on the tv there just people that need help, people need to realise that if your going to group celebs, and normal people together then your views and opinions should be the same for those people.

  12. i bet

I bet all of you love, have loved, have been in love with someone who is using and you dont even know it. Yes, it happens. It;s like with your children, the more you dont want to hear something, the longer you will be kept in the dark. i think overall human support is a necessity, and it’s not all about whos “RIGHT”. Thanks for reading.

  13. i think who ever thinks this was funny you all should fucking die your self’s this world these day’s makes me sick if it was anyone who wasn’t famous no one would care!! GET A LIFE!!!!!!!!

Heath was an amazing talent and will be sorely missed by his fans and his family. THAT IS IT!
The mass public thinks these people are our friends or they owe us something… They don’t! They do a project, we do or don’t enjoy it… and that is it! What they do away from the camera is their business and none of ours… When was the last time you wondered what the Dentist you just visited did after you got a cleaning…Or what the teller did after you bought a pair of jeans at the Gap? Heath, and the rest of them, are no different! Their job is to entertain us on the big or small screen and that is the end of the association! Whether he did or didn’t have a drug problem? is of no concern to Joe Public. Heath Ledger died from something and that is tragic… i loved his performances too… Now, he is gone and that is it. His grave doesn’t deserve to be trampled on, nor his short but brilliant career…

Looks like News of the World have got rights to the video, its just gone up on http://www.notw.co.uk

    lots of cocaine freakery

  16. nickii

Stop the bull. Death sucks but Heath wasn’t hit by a bus, he was an idiot and paid for it. Kudos to any network willing to air the video because it’s just news as far as I’m concerned. People deserve to know the truth…not just because he was a celebrity but because 28 year olds don’t drop dead for no reason! It’s a shame he was too selfish to think of his child who now has to grow up knowing her dad was a dumb statistic!

  17. a reader

Death and taxes they say is a certainty, we need to add the taxes from the show business and info media protected by huge Copyrights and these create huge money successes so unnatural of non doers and professional fakers! And they succumb to the easy life of drug addictions! They are the supporters of the drug cartels of the World inflicting in the rest of society false moral and ethics of all sort of promiscuity! Big dilemma for parents to give a proper education and moral and ethic guidance to their young! Sad but true! The power of money! PODEROSO SENIOR ES DON DINERO! SERA QUE ES EL DIABLO FAGOCITANDO MENTES Y ALMAS! CAPITALISM AT ITS BEST!

  18. This is to all the nickii’s rachel’s n portSniper’s out there. Heath Leadger wasn’t a great man he was just a man a human being like the rest of us and as human being we make mistakes and mess up sometimes thats just life. What happened to Heath Ledger was his fault but that doesn’t make it any less tragic or upsetting to his DEVOTED fans, and family. Yes everyone who has a drug problem or any addiction knows that you dont see it coming and you cant see the end of it, it just creeps up on u. I was addicted to drugs at one stage in my life does that mean I deserve to die. If ur family members were druggies if they died of a drug overdose would u like me sayin they deserved to die…. no so dont just because someone is famous and in the publi eye think its ok to judge someones life or lifestyle of someone u do NOT know!

  19. Jay

You guys realize the video is from Jan 29, 06 and he died in 2008. Not the same day. So the masseuse WOULD NOT have found the bill

  20. PKay

    pOnk-

I didn’t know much about Heath Ledger before he died. When I heard about his death, I thought that he did cocaine (and that coke played a factor in his death). Why? Because I do coke too. I’m a stripper, and I have met so many people from so many different backgrounds, various education levels, and different income levels who do it too. I have seen so many people snorting coke a video of Heath Ledger snorting coke doesn’t shock me. I was just looking for website that was going to be truthful. Once I saw the pictures of him as the Joker, I knew for sure that he was a coke addict (only because I’m one too, and we can sense these things). I was getting sick of his fan sites just going on about him being a great actor. He was a great actor, and a drug addict. Being a drug addict does not make him a bad person or affect him performance in any of his movies. There is no sterotypical coke addict. Some of them are horrible people. Some of them are just average people looking for a little excitment. But there are a few coke addicts out there who great individuals, and this is how they are dealing with the fucked up world we live. I think it’s better than taking perscription drugs like the majority of north america. After all, I said earlier that coke was a factor in Heath Ledger’s death, but the sleeping pill and persciption meds were probably the cause. It’s pretty hard to overdose on coke (unless you are mixing it with heroin). It’s very easy to overdose on perscription meds. His ex was threatening to take sole custody of his daughter if he didn’t change his party life style. He resorted to what was acceptable to society (perscription drugs), mixed with a bit of coke, and that was it.
