To the Hindu’s that have been posting, saying that this is offensive and that Hindu’s never dress up as their Gods… you are all incorrect.
Hindu’s have dressed up as their dieties to honor them whether at festivals, or in plays or movies. Just take the classic Indian film, “Do Anjaane” for example. The Actress Rekha plays a character who wants to be an actress. In one scene she is performing in a play in which her character is the goddess “Shakti”
I am sure that Ms. Klum meant no disrespect to the Hindu faith. Indeed, I am sure many people who saw her costume were interested in finding out more about Kali.
(By the way… she was portraying Kali. When you are a goddess, you can have as many or few arms as you want.)

Hello? Everyone is missing the point. Her costume isn’t correct because she wasn’t trying to portray a particular goddess but liked the exotic look it has. So stfu about religion. And people dress up as gods and goddesses all the time. No one cries when someone dresses up as Venus or Jesus. Get OVER it. Seriously, some people have way tooooo much time on their hands if this is all they got to whine about. Shut up. It’s just a costume.

Thanks to Heidi’s amazing Halloween costume I’m now interested in learning more about this deity. All of the attention to detail shows that she, or the person who created the costume for her, respectfully tried to create a costume that didn’t attempt to recreate the deity verbatim, but rather generate an impression that would elicit a strong, emotional or intellectual response. Congratulation Heidi on becoming an American citizen, whom greatly enjoy our freedoms, including religion.

I commend her for daringness. However, Kali is a deity and doesn’t matter how unique she wanted to dress….this was not appropriate at all. Dressing up as a GOD may trigger different emotions in individuals, and has to be kept in mind.
