Wanda Sykes is Gay and Married

Comedienne Wanda Dykes Sykes officially came out of the closet on Saturday, revealing that she married her long-time partner shortly before the passage of Proposition 8 banning gay marriage in the state of California. She said (via E! Online):
“You know, I don’t really talk about my sexual orientation. I didn’t feel like I had to. I was just living my life, not necessarily in the closet, but I was living my life.
[But then] I got pissed off. They pissed me off. I said, ‘You know what? Now I gotta get in your face.’ And that’s what we all have to do now. They pissed off the wrong group of people. They have galvanized a community… Instead of having gay marriage in California, we’re going to get it across the country.”
When my wife and I leave California, I want to have my marriage also recognized in Nevada, in Arizona, all the way to New York. How can you stop people from loving each other? I am proud to be a woman. I’m proud to be a black woman and I’m proud to be gay.”
What was that? I’m sorry, I wasn’t listening. I was busy trying to bury the image of Wanda Sykes muff-diving some be-flanneled she-beast somewhere deep in my subconscious. I’m sure there’s still room in there between “summer camp with Father O’Houlian’” and “that time in high school when I found my mom’s dildo.”
Speaking of she-beasts, here’s Kim Kardashian with sister Kourtney and that dumb twat from “Laguna Beach” in Miami this weekend:

Surprise? no. Just for clarifications sake, I dunno its completely accurate to say that prop 8 banned gay marriage either. It was already banned, then a judge took it upon himself to change it, and then prop 8 re-affirmed the first law.
Either way, it’s stupid to blame religion. If gays truly wanted it to pass they would have come out in greater numbers to vote. Thats how America works. Go America! All those protesters are really just screaming my group is smaller and lazier than all of you.
Also, since marriage is a religious concept and no religion I know of allows gays to marry, it’s also more accurate to call them legal unions.
Oh hey look, the toast just popped. Time to get the peanut butter!

um, no, marriage is a civil contract. whether one chooses to have it “sanctified” in a church is up to the individual. if it were a “religious concept” it wouldn’t have been on the ballot in the first place– ever hear of “separation of church and state”?
and as a group, straight people make up larger percentage of the population than gay people do.
the point here, is that gay people are not allowed to have “legal unions”, or marriage and the rights that go with that state sanctioned contract.
think all that out a little more carefully, jon.
and yes, california voters suck.

The laws of the United States are based in Christian puritanical beliefs, regardless of what the constitution now says, thats how things were done 200 years before George Washington was even born. The civil contract as it stands now is based on the religious idea of union. Therefore my previous analysis stands and you make yourself look uneducated Bunny.
Like I said, the California voters don’t suck, the supporters of defeating prop 8 suck harder and lost due to smaller numbers and laziness.
Think about that and suck it! Boooyaaaaaaa!

This country was established because a bunch of people did not like the rules of the country they were living in, be it religious or not. So that group of people jumped a boat and traveled to a place where they could establish rules that they thought they could live by(at the time). Did I make that easy enough for you to get, Jon? Freedom of religion is also Freedom FROM religion. That is why Bionic Bunny pointed out that marriage is a civil ceremony. All men created equal is pretty easy to understand…even for you, Jon. Up until the 13th century, there was no ceremony to establish marriage other than a contract between two parties. Such as doweries. Bone up on your history before arguing, Jon. Boooyaaaa just isn’t as strong an argument as you might think. Also, Prop. 8 will be beaten. It is just a matter of time. You and other brain trusts like you can only hold a minority down for a minute period of time before your antiquated bigotry runs its course and fades with the changing time.

i think that if same sex couples want to marry then they should be allowed its only fair if a man and a woman can be happy why cant a couple of the same sex it has nothing to do with religion.. thats bull when they say that we are a land of the free shouldnt we be free to marry whom ever we choose even if they are of the same sex ? and not only in California it should be in every state just cause most people are strait mean that gay men and women do not have the same rights we do they can do everything we can the only difference is the life they choose to live at home and that is no ones business!!!! so just give them the rights they deserve its going to happen why not its only a matter of time before they change it anyways….
