Katie “Kate” Holmes was spotted out and about in New York yesterday with a crusty wad of herpetic boils in the corner of her mouth. Finally, a challenger worthy of Amy Winehouse in the disgusting facial scab department! Ugh. With the cold sores and the haircut and the winter coat, she’s one pair of fingerless gloves and roaring trashcan fire away from being a British street urchin in a Dickens’ story. Crust o’ bread, govnah? Spot o’ tea? Pip pip cheerio, mates!

a cold sore yes, is caused by herpes…but guess what folks…95% of the population has them…she probably got the virus when she was a child which is when MOST people get it….from being kissed by relatives and all. Get over the drama of a movie star having them.

I feel bad for her. I know when I get a cold sore I want to stay in bed all day and sleep. She’s not gross though! It’s just a cold sore.

Giver her a break, she is out and about with her baby. No person, who is a good parent should be publically humiliated like that. While the sore isn’t becoming, there might be nothing she can do about it. I get canker sores easily, and right now, I have one on my lip, because I bit it, and I am not a fast healer.
I can’t imagine being in her shoes, or in the shoes of any public figure and being talked about in this fashion.
The fact is that none of us here know her, and therfore we don’t have the right to be talking her down in such fashion.
Leave it alone.

I’d also like to add that there are many forms of the herpes virus, and mouth sores and ulcers.
She is definitely NOT the worst case, not even close.
