Disney starlet Demi Lovato might be closer to rehab and sex-tape-dom than you think — at the tender age of sixteen, she’s already cutting herself. Pictures of Lovato sporting a wristful of vertical purple lines were all over the internet today. The NY Daily News says
[There is] speculation that the up-and-coming “Camp Rock” star was into self-harming. The “evidence”? Lovato, 16, accidentally flashed several angry red marks on her inner wrist during Miley Cyrus’ Disneyland birthday bash back in October.
“The allegations [of self-harming] are completely false,” says the singer’s rep, Lillian Matulic.
Demi, she points out, was wearing several oh-so-hip tight plastic bracelets earlier that day which “left indentations on her wrist.”
I might buy the rep's story if the front of Demi’s wrist were similarly indented. But as you can plainly see, the front of her wrist is completely smooth and unmarked. And since November, she’s never been spotted without a conspicuous wristload of bracelets to cover the marks, including at her performance at the Wiltern Theatre this past Tuesday. Put a little cocaine in her pocket and pin her ankles behind her ears and you’d almost swear this was Lindsay Lohan. You know, except for the smell and the milky discharge.

1. No cutter…especially one in the public eye…would flash their cuts so openly.
2. They look more like bruises left from indentions.
3. I’ve wore those bracelets before…and you can get marks from them…and yes, even on just one side of your wrist. Especially if you lay your arm on a table or something…there is pressure against the one side, but not the other….creating the indention.

Even if she is a cutter, that doesn’t mean she’s going to make a sex tape or do drugs. When I was younger than her I cut myself almost religiously and now I’m twenty-three years old, and I have never once done an illegal substance, made a sex-tape, drove while under the influence, or smoked. All that it took to put me on the right track was support and help. Telling her she’s worth nothing because she MAY cut herself is no way to make her stop. Which should be our goal.

Has ANYONE ever heard of photoshop? Yeah, it’s this very popular program in which you can edit pictures to look pretty much however you please. My guess is that these people were so hard up for money or fame that they decided to take it out on yet another poor girl whom they thought might cause enough of a stir up that they could use the story for the next couple months. But in the incidence that she really IS a cutter, she should be given the help and privacy she needs and deserves to recover without the entire world being aware of her day to day progress. Ok let’s say Demi is not a Cutter, and that Bracelet’s left those marks.
1.) Why are the marks rigid like a cut would leave from a razor? (if you look close you can see the marks are rigid. not big bumps from beads but rigid. a cutter would know it’s the same rigidness left from razor blade cuts)
2.) Why are the marks so far apart?
3.) Why are they not even? Some are shorter than the others, some start at the middle of her wrist and others go all the way across.
4.) Bracelet dye getting on your wrist DOES NOT look anything like that.
5.) And IF it is dye from the bracelets, then why are some parts darker than others and appear to be (imprinted) deeper in her skin.
6.) You can totally tell she is trying to hide her wrists with her dress, just look closer. If she isn’t a cutter why would she try and do that?
7.) Let’s again assume the marks are from bracelets she wore EARLIER that day…Why didn’t the marks go away. Indents and marks from bracelets go away within an Hour, 2-3 at the VERY VERY VERY Most.
8.) And obviously the marks are not gone from the afternoon to the night, so how fucking tight were these bracelets then anyway!?!

I think that everyone whom had said mean comments towards her and suggesting that she ‘cut deeper’ is offensive to fans of hers, people whom in fact have or had self harmed. I believe some of you are also delusional towards how important this topic is! Sucide or self harm isn’t a joke. Some of you are indeed suffering from delusions of grandeur thinking you have all the answers! Sure jelly bracelets don’t leave deep indents like that, just mere red marks covering the ENTIRE wrist but who knows? Okay, look: I am Demi’s biggest fan. I don’t give a damn about what any body else thinks of her, I am NOT going to stop being a fan. My friends hate her, and some people would be pressured by them saying “Oh my gosh, why do like her, she has a fat butt chin.” (I worked out earlier that the girl who said that was skiting herself, because she has a butt chin too!) and “Oh she’s so ugly!” but I havn’t been peessured into saying I don’t like her because I don’t lie, and I am a true fan.
The marks on her wrist are purple, not angry red, which means they are old scars. She was bullied when she was in public school and maybe she thought badly of herself because of them (I hate those girls) and that may have made her want to cut. Anyway, I’m sure she has stopped cutting now, if she was a cutter to begin with.

Okay, so I used to be a cutter, and I have some pretty nasty scars, but they honestly look nothing like those. I know everyone heals differently, but those “scars” look more purple than “angry red.” I used to wear tons of jelly bracelets to hide some of my lower scars, and boy were those things tight. On the other hand, I don’t remember the marks being so wide.
Anyway, who cares? So she cuts, or maybe she doesn’t. Why do people care again? Shirley Manson was a cutter, as well as Christina Ricci, Jessicka (lead singer from Jack Off Jill), Marilyn Manson . . . Plenty of “hard core” singers do this in their shows and that’s not plastered on the newsfeed. These people don’t care that we cut, so why should we care that they do?
I guess the point is that cutting isn’t a big deal. Depression, stress, all kinds of things make a person go crazy. It can be done at any age by anyone (and it doesn’t make you crazy or suicidal). But I’m not defending her, I’m defending cutters. They probably won’t be taken seriously after this whole thing.

You guys are all wrong.
You can tell they’re not cuts, Im not doing this for the attention but I know what cutting looks like, I used to do it.
I believe her story about tight bracelets. I wear bracelets just for the fashion, not to cover anything up, &sometimes I get similiar scars. Rather, those don’t look like cuts at all, they look more like slight little bruises that’ll go away in like a day or so.
Being a fan of Demi for such a long time, I’d have to say she has been wearing those kinds of bracelets she claims gave her the scar, for quite some time. If she had just recently started using them, that would be pretty suspicious.
Lastly, if she was doing it for the attention, she’d put it more out there and not wear those “bracelets” she’s been spotted wearing lately.
Just leave Demi alone, even if she did cut. Even if she did, she probably regrets it anyway. Basically, those don’t look like cuts or scars even, but like something really tight was pressed against her wrist.
And are you guys blind!? Don’t say this “If it was a bracelet, it’d be on the top side of her wrist too.” No, think of a bracelet where the tight part is only on the wrist and maybe the design is on the top part, thats not nearly as tight. I have a bracelet like that.

I’ve been on the fence with this one. The thing is that if she does cut herself, I can’t say she doesn’t have a reason: bullied in school to a point of homeschooling, bullshittin father, 16 years old and under the pressures of fame, fans, agents, albums, shows & movies (can you say stress). this is silly. so what if she cuts or not!?!?! Those were obviously NOT from a bracelet of any kind. if it was the kind of bracelet you slid over your hand it wouldn’t be that tight on her unless her hand is smaller than her wrist WHICH I DONT THINK IT IS, and if it was just a regular bracelet that snaps on your wrist then shes stupid for wearing it with it that tight. DUH!! Shes obviously a cutter. I know i’ve seen them firsthand cuts look exactly like that and a normal cut would take about 3-6 weeks to heal depending on how deep it was.
