Kelly Rutherford Still Breast Feeding 2-Year Old Kid

File this one under “Ewwww”: Gossip Girl star Kelly Rutherford is still breast-feeding her two-year old son. Page Six says
The 40-year-old pregnant mother [said] she still nurses her walking, talking 2- year-old son, Hermés. “It’s an amazing bond with your child,” she said, even pointing out that the experience benefits her body.
Um, okay. Another amazing bond with your child? The umbilical cord. But there’s a reason you sever those kinds of bonds. Nobody wants to play with the kid who breaks out his mom’s tits during snack time, just like nobody wants to play with the kid dragging around a smelly old placenta on a dried-up string. Besides, the name “Hermés” alone is probably enough to make him the resident school bus spitball target. That poor bastard was doomed from the start.

Bet you a gallon of milk that some European is going to accuse us Americans of being narrow-minded and how healthy and natural breastfeeding is, blah blah blah…

Benefits her body? I doubt that. Even if that were true, is it worth the trade off for your sons future issues? In 20 years that kid will be either a sexual deviant or will run a secluded motel with the corpse of his mom holding watch out her bedroom window.

That’s a little bit too hard to believe, because usually, after a year and six months at most, the body stops from producing milk. That would be one thing. The other thing is actually a positive one. Hypothetically speaking, if she’s able to do that, her baby is one lucky son, because mother milk is the most nutritious food a baby can get.

These ridiculous mothers who have separation issues make me sick…(have you read about the british mom who has an EIGHT year old still on the boob?!!) When the kid has teeth, it’s for a reason!!!!!

Nothing wrong with breastfeeding till 2 and beyond….
Historically, women have breastfed their children much longer than we have over the last 40 years. Nestle and all the formula people came in an told us it was disgusting and unnatural. If you don’t breastfeed your baby then you are a bad mom (unless you have some medical condition that prevents it).
On the other hand, we should burn this bitch!

Historically, people also used leeches to “let out the bad blood” and kill the tiny dwarf or a small toad that was making them sick by living in their stomachs. Doesn’t mean it was right, though. Something to think about when you’re nursing your eight-year old child.

Yeah, you’re probably right. Stupid breastfeeding witchcraft.
Especially since mammals are animals whose name is derived from their distinctive feature, mammary glands, which they use in feeding their young.
We should hate our primary defining feature and just let the formula do the work.

those idiots over at the “la leche league” advocate breast feeding for as long as your kid will take it. susan st. james breast fed till her kid was like 4 or something. yes, the body produces (wet nurses, anyone?) as long as it is “needed”.
nine months is plenty. geez. blech.

Hey, teeth are for chewing, not suckling and swallowing. There’s a reason two year olds have a mouthful of teeth. I’m just stating the facts, man.

Actually, I’ve read that, ideally, mothers should breast feed until their children are 3 years old. People need to get over it and realize that the breasts were designed to be purely functional, not aesthetically pleasing. There’s nothing wrong with this. Breasts were not designed for sexual means.

Wow, I’m guessing Kate’s sex life is non-existent.
And someone owes me a gallon of milk.

Hey, I said designed! The shower head wasn’t designed for pleasure either, but that doesn’t mean it hasn’t been used for that purpose

P.S.
I am American, I just also happen to read. You don’t get your gallon yet.

Actually Kate, breasts are an evolutionary sexual feature. Men are attracted to women with large breasts and hips because they are considered to be more fertile and thus better for breeding. The want to pass on their genes the best way possible. Just FYI.

I’ve read that before. Just another justification for it being okay for men to oogle blondes with big boobs. Its a theory, not a fact.

Judge not, people. You never know what you’re going to do until it happens with you…I’ve been nursing for six years now - two kids…first one a boy until age three (now six), the second is a girl now reaching age three. Both are really well adjusted, bright, lively kids who have a great connection with me - trust and comfort and creativity…all those good things. My son is certainly not regressive - learned to read at three and I’m currently not letting the school skip him past kindergarten to grade two because I’d like to see him have buddies his own age and enjoy his childhood. Neither kid did the ‘give it up themselves’ thing, but I would say that one negative result might be the fact that they are picky eaters and hate drinking cow’s milk. Whatever. I did it because I could, being stay at home (no real reason to set arbitrary limits), because it saved so much money and hassle, and because I’m far too suspicious about the chemical brew they call formula. It’s like - why offer coffee-mate when you can offer cream? I don’t regret a thing. Plus - I’m still 105 pounds after 60 lb weight gains during pregnancy - nursing uses up the stored body fat and gets you back to trim shape which is nice. Okay - missive done!

I think it’s a mothers personal choice, if she is still able to breastfeed and she’s comfortable with it, then why not?

Ah yes, I am sure you think evolution is a theory and not a fact too.

And don’t you think there is a REASON men like to oogle women with blonde hair and large breasts? There are a lot of men out there that are into that….
I am personally a brunette B-cup but I still manage to get oogled, just not like the size 2 blonde buxom chicks I see daily out here in SoCal.

Hello Sonya
Here is your “some european” …… commenting your remark.
I am european, swiss to be completely accurate. It may come as a surprise however, that I do not call you narrow minded. Wrongly informed maybe or not informed at all and simply quoting something you have heard somewhere or whatever. Or maybe you have first hand experience from your last trip to europe?
Let me just tell you that in europe breastfeeding is indeed common and also recommended. However, 6 month is the average. European women DO NOT breastfeed up to 2 years or even more. It is considered unnatural and unhealthy for both the physical and even more so, the emotional development of the child.

I love the uneducated, ill informed opinions of people who have never had children. It speaks volumes of this country and it’s wrapped view of the human body and sex.

actually, i prefer dark-haired women with light eyes and slim bodies. usually, big breasted women are more inclined to get fat, so i stay away from them because i’m not mature enough to be stuck with a girl who lets herself go. most girls who get big breast implants always get really fat. the only friends i have who like big hipped and breasted women are black and again, these types of females, white, or black always get fat. i want a girl i can pick up and spin around from time to time. i can curl 135lbs. and bench press 275, so i’d rather have a girl around 135 and under. remember, muscle weighs more than fat, so a girl can be 5′8 and weigh 135 and look like she has an eating disorder, but really be healthy. i need to visit kelly, so i can get some of that milk. i prefer blondes like diane kruger with blue eyes, but kelly looks sophisticated enough. subcontiously, men may look for girls with nice sexual features for reproduction, but most of the time it’s for more selfish purposes. i like girls who look good in expensive dresses and if a girl has big breasts and a huge waist, i’m not going to talk to her, let alone look at her without laughing, or vomiting. honestly, if a girl is too lazy to get nutrisystem, or sprint, or jog at least 2 times a week because she’s fat like oprah, or kirsty alley, then i have no respect for them.

It is *completely* a mother’s choice! I get so tired of reading debates over all this stuff.
GO KELLY!!
Whoever wants the gallon of milk, I’ll give you one for goodness sake! I work for WIC (darn the formula) but breastfed my own children for 2.5 and 3 years before ever knowing about WIC.
Nothing wrong with anyone breastfeeding as long, or as short, as they want! For those who don’t even want to try, I encourage them to keep an open mind, but that’s the great thing about America … PERSONAL CHOICE, baby! No one’s going to force them.

The whole video give me an uneasy feeling in my stomach. I think it a good topic to discuss though.
I wrote a thing about this in the page below and pretty much bashed long term breast feeding……but I’m not sure yet whether or not its actually bad for the child. The way we treat breasts and sex in our culture makes it seem super gross for the average person. But seeming gross and being harmful for the developement of a child are totally different things. Strange Strange stuff…………
