Mickey Rourke Did Steroids for ‘The Wrestler’
Tags: mickey rourke, steroids, the wrestler

Golden Globe winner Mickey Rourke recently admitted he did steroids to prepare for his role in the new movie “The Wrestler.” No explanation as to his face, but I’m guessing he’s the victim of a chemical fire in his next movie. According to Starpulse
Rourke worked out twice a day with an Israeli cage fighter and gorged on seven meals a day to bulk up for the part [of heavyweight retired grappler Randy 'The Ram' Robinson]. But… he suggests he had a little extra help to speed up the process by indulging in a drug synonymous with the world of pro wrestling.
When asked if he took steroids, the star replies, “When I’m a wrestler, I behave like a wrestler.”
Which is exactly why I tell people I’m playing the role of an alcoholic single mother with a glandular issue and gonorrhea. I’m not a fat drunken slut; I’m a thespian!

he he he he… Your head can’t grow, because of steroid use. I guess, that you are confusing, anabolic steroids, with “H.G.H. Human Growth hormone, which may cause “acromegaly”.

he admitted live on t.v. here in the u.k. on the “johnathon ross show” (friday nights) ross is a chat show host and movie critic on the b.b.c. …..
when he (rourke) explained, ross tried to lighten it by exclaiming”(cough)you mean (cough) “protein shakes” dont you?” rourke’s reply was something akin to ” no man… none of that crap… i took steroids and dont care what people think!!!” it was several months ago but it stuck in my mind that he is the ONLY hollywood type that i’ve ever heard NOT try to deny it or beat around the bush…. and good luck to him too… it’s his choice and he isn’t going for any olympic medals… so why should anyone care if his body was the result of chemical help… its more honest than c.g.i. !!!!!!!!!!

“NO” Mickey took steroids long before the movie “The Wrestler.” Take a look at him in his younger years of acting as compared to the last 15 or more. Natural growth spurts like that are between the ages 14-21 and still, they are not as rapid as his gains.
For the average/even slightly above average male, after the of age 25, great muscle gains and lower fat can only be achieved with the aid of steroids. There are many different types of steroids primarily designed to increase muscle mass and decrease fat rapidly.
I started working out at age 15. 5 years later, I reached my plateau and decided to give testosterone a try. I increased my weight by 30 pounds plus and decreased in fat. I laid off for a couple years and then did it again and kept it through my system for over a year and gained another 30 pounds. Repeated the process and gained another 10 until I reached my plateau using various injectable testosterones, horse hormones, orals (d-bal, anadrol, halotestin). When I finally got enough to afford real HGH (Human Growth Hormone), I went past my original plateau by 15 pounds plus. In all, I used a variety of anabolic steroids for 13 years, taking long rest in between cycles to make them work better.
From experience and being around other people who I knew that took them, I can tell by by the appearance of a male’s face, and the additional muscular 20 pounds plus, if they have been using anabolic enhancement(s).
Mickey shouldn’t be singled out though. This has been going on for a long time and still is. Here are a few that may or may not come to surprise: Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger (taken the most), Sylvester Stallone, Jean Claude Van Dame, Kurt Russel, Vin Diesel, and even Christian Bail. Nearly all pro football players have used them and they’ve even become popular in baseball. These are just to name a few. You just don’t see too many 35 plus years of age just blow up and get buff. That’s because it doesn’t happen unless there is a medical condition and their bodies produce to much. Their are steroids that lean a person up beyond belief and even many women use them. This is nothing uncommon. So “yes” is the correct answer to this particular question. Mickey has already been that size previously, plus some years ago. Muscle cells have memory, when they use again, it comes back fast. Hope this helps.

That’s a bunch of crap! Muscle is gained from protein intake 1-2 grams per lean pound of bady weight, and getting cut is dietary intake and quality of foods. I’m 44 and have been as low as 5% BF composition 4 years back at 162 lbs, and am currently bulking up, at 10% BF and 192 lbs. Age doesn’t have that much to do with it unless your testosterone levels are at female levels.
That list of names is a criock. Only Stallone and Arnold have admitted to it, and the others clearly never appeared to be on roids. I’m bigger than they are, and I never needed them. On top of that, they can afford the best personal trainers and dieticians, I can’t. If I can look better doing it on my own, i have no doubt that those men in that list of yours had no problems attaining their size naturally, or with legit supplements.

If some drug dealer in SE Washington DC takes steroids, he’s arrested and sentenced to prison. But if Schwarzenegger and Stallone take them, “UNDER A DOCTOR”S CARE” (YEAH RIGHT), they are heros and make millions!! First, steroirds are drugs and have always been illegal since they were synthesized here in the US in the 1940s. Second, it is illegal (and has been for decades) for a doctor to prescribe steroids for physical enhancement or performance. I hate Schwarzenegger! Here’s an idiot who can’t even speak English, but is worth a billion dollars from setroids, stunt men, and special effects! Wake up everybody! I like Mickey, but would you let your daughter date a guy who admitted to using drugs because it was part of his job, or so he says?

NICK you are full of shit, you’re American and you’re still wrong… Anabolic steroids were made illegal in US in 1990, I’m not even American and I know that.
Why don’t you try looking stuff up before you post misinformation on the internet, the world is full of ‘know it all’ idiots like you…
Arnold admitted to using steroids in the U.S WHILST they were still legal, i.e. pre 1990..
