Lindsay Lohan Has a Good Reason for Being Anorexic

In case you’re wondering, Lindsay Lohan isn’t anorexic because she suffers from body issue distortion and weight issues; she’s anorexic because she wants you to feel sorry for her. Apparently being sorry she hasn’t killed herself yet doesn’t count. A friend of hers told People Magazine
“She is a self-destructive person. It’s all part of her cry for attention. She wants Sam [Ronson, her ex-girlfriend] to see how bad she’s hurting and she wants Hollywood to see her as a ‘tortured artist’ who is wasting away.”
Funny, I see less of a “tortured artist” and more of a “Hamburglar’s slutty little sister after a crippling bout of dysentery.” I guess it’s really all about perspective.

She’s okay, for now. She is very thin but she still looks good, if she gets any thinner I think it will look scary on her because she’s tall. But her feet are enormous man! They are huge!

She is clearly suffering from an eating disorder, which- unless those around her stop denying the existence of, will only get worse and more embedded.
People often mistake weight-loss eating disorders as ‘attention seeking’, ’self-pity’, ’self-centered’ or ‘poor little rich girl’ illnesses.
As someone who has been through the darkest depths of an eating disorder, to the point of nearly losing my life multiple times- I can say with conviction that there is more to these illnesses than meets the eye.
Yes, it is a self-destructive disease… her friend is right on that… and whilst eating disorders can SOMETIMES begin as a cry for help or attention, the vast majority of the time they spiral out of control to become something far more severe.
E.D’s often begin as psychological issues, but as they progress and weightloss/malnutrition become more severe, the body begins to break down physically- which has effects on rational thinking, reality perception, anxiety, depression, insomnia, etc.
So, in starving yourself to be happy, you will never BE happy. The thinner you get, the more obsessed you become.
Someone needs to get her help. It’s so sad that the media has made a mockery of this illness to the point where those actually suffering terribly aren’t able to get adequate help.
Pro-anorexia has the same effect… trivialising the reality behind the illness for those who are actually suffering beyond their control.
I plan on specialising my doctorate of psychology on eating disorders and hopefully one day helping women and men really struggling with this… so many people slip through the gaps in the system.
