dont think it’s Johnny Depp at all, I think the Mad Hatter is Elijah Wood would explain the gap between the teeth and the crooked eye.

Lewis Carroll was on a serious drug trip when he wrote Alice in Wonderland, so Tim Burton’s style actually fits it well.
