Billy Ray Cyrus Defends Miley’s Pole Dancing

Billy Ray Cyrus just doesn’t understand why daughter Miley’s pole dance at the Teen Choice Awards earlier this month was such a big freakin’ deal. It’s just a 16-year old in hot pants squatting around a pole, and besides, if there’s anything Hollywood has taught us, it’s that hypersexualizing teenage girls always has a happy ending. Just ask Britney Spears! He told Us Magazine
“You know what? I just think that Miley loves entertaining people,” he [says] of his 16-year-old daughter, who swirled around a pole attached to an ice cream truck during her performance of “Party in the USA” Aug. 10.
“I always tell her to love what you’re doing and not worry so much about opinion. I give my kids a lot of freedom. I think it’s important.”
Trish and Billy Ray really should’ve named her Fancy instead of Miley. They already put her in a dancin’ dress (okay, dancin’ shorts) and whored her out uptown. “Just be nice to the gentlemen, Fancy, and theyll be nice to you!” It’s almost like Reba McEntire wrote that song just for her.

Jodie Foster started out as a bare-bottomed Coppertone kid, her ubiquitous nekkid cottontail, adorned billboards around the land. Yes, seemingly everywhere, her likeness appeared with what seemed to be about the smartest little dog ever, tugging down her bathing suit bottoms.
Brooke Shields, as Violet, in Pretty Baby, romped across the screen in the altogether with several full frontal frames of the ‘tween in all her glory. Both turned out well.
In his column today, Glenn Greenwald blasts Tom Ridge for elevating the Department of Homeland Security’s threat-level to Orange for purely political reasons. Ridge admits to this in his memoirs. But the previous bogus elevation, the one before that, was even more heinous, more vile, more despicable. In that, it was done to provide misdirection and cover for the onerous Orrin Hatch Protect Act, along with its now infamous and egregious “Feeney Amendment”. That color-of-law moral panic then started the head-long rush into hysteria that we know now as the battle against the so-called hyper-sexualization of children. Except that children are sexual creatures. This moral panic has created mass psychosis. Just fudging the threat-level at DHS to help a particular person to get elected as president, was bad enough. But it in no way compares to the level of evil unleashed upon the land by the moral panic, and all the lies, constitutional violations and devious machinations that went into that.
It wasn’t just Bill Maher to act the part of the sicko-psycho-sadist in ugly lies against sweet Miley. That bigot-fest, aka GE/NBC/MSNBC, spewed some of the worst drivel ever about her, which belies all their incessent “To Catch a Predator” baloney and hyperbole and proves they only exploit the young. I am convinced that the only way to safely watch GE/NBC/MSNBC, is through “Hoffman Glasses”, like in the movie, “They Live”.
Young people who trash Miley’s image exhibit Stockholm Syndrome. And that’s particularly sad. She is a superhero*. They don’t have any better, more visible agent of youthful raw sexuality, and oh, all her other talent. Right now she’s about the best there is.
*See goddess theory.

To his credit, Bill Maher, on tonight’s show, avoided any repeat of last week’s outrage. Two of his guests were from GE/NBC/MSNBC, and at least they did look sheepish. Maher’s special guest, Jeremy Scahill wiped the smirks off of their faces. Maher did address some of the Tom Ridge opprobrium. Maher spent the last several minutes of his show explaining apology, and how important it is.
Those who would impugn the wonderful character of Miley, should themselves review how well they stand in Social Role Valorization Theory.
While perhaps almost too ineffable to even mention here, Miley’s given name is Destiny Hope Cyrus. She has no reason for any shame that I have ever seen or heard. Her talent is the source of joy for millions of fans.
Walmart is chic with the The Cyrus/Azria line. Wal-Mart CEO Mike Duke has every right to feel proud. I turn up the Miley/Max commercial LOUD, each and every time it comes on. Wal-Mart strives for consistent corporate responsibilty for which they deserve very high marks. Miley/Max adds much to their image.

Like to talk? Sometimes.
Willing to talk? Sure.
Able to listen? I like to think so.
I love celebrities. I love this one in particular. I love her circle of friends. I love Britney anyway, but all the moreso, because she and Miley are friends. I love Heidi Montag, (Mrs. Pratt), because she is such a good person and also, because she is Miley’s friend.
The sexual repression from the moral panic of this nation has been imposed around the world. It has created mass psychosis. The problem is becoming ever more apparent. Hate waged against celebrities in general is but one measure of that psychosis.
Kids grow up believing that once they reach some given arbitrary age, that they’ll suddenly become a full person and enjoy their “rights”. Upon reaching that age, they discover that that is a sham, just psychological conditioning to accept authoritarianism, that their “freedom” was actually better as kids. Women will look at a mini skirt or short shorts and say, “oh I could never wear that, I’m not a sixteen-year-old!”
But now The Register has an interesting article up about:
Perhaps they were inspired by Miley’s courage as an artist and her taking the heat for her (drum roll please) “pole dance” femininity.
So, your admonitory discourse on moral and upright behavior consists of predictive programming?
Miley has not yet even begun to jump-the-shark.

Celebrities work so hard to entertain us. They make it look so easy. The pressures on them to keep the spotlight are unrelenting. If everything goes right, we see the results of all their efforts, not the work.
The difficulty in maintaining originality and not simply presenting derivative work is a double-edged sword. If it is too avant garde, too edgey, it risks losing the audience. If it is merely derivative, it makes an artist seem like merely an imitator.
When a star hits a slump, or delivers bad work, and an audience turns on them, all that keen sensitivity acts to funnel negativity at them and overload their fragile beings. Drug and alcohol abuse is bad enough for anyone, but to a celebrity, it can super-exacerbate their problems.
Celebrity hate can get extremely ugly, and few people in the crowd are willing to risk bucking the crowd and not joining in with the vicious, hateful speech.
In Miley’s case, it is terribly unjust to tear her down, as she is so marvelously original. That kind of hate drove Britney to self-destructive behavior, a bitter, vicious circle. I certainly applaud Britney for bouncing back with her World Tour. Heaven forbid that haters would destroy Miley, that way.

Eh.
I pole dance at school. OH YEAH!! XD
So, because she’s a celebrity icon she’s not allowed to have some teenager fun?
People are being obnoxious and overly strict.
Stop getting your nickers in a knot.
