Scarlett Johansson is Adopting a Baby from Africa

Tags: , , , , , , , , ,

Scarlett Johansson and Ryan Reynolds have jumped on the celebrity adopt-a-third-world-urchin bandwagon and begun the process of obtaining their very own African orphan. According to Star Magazine:

“Scarlett has always wanted to adopt from outside the U.S.,” an insider [said]. “She feels now is finally the right time.”

Ryan, whose older brother is adopted, and Scarlett are already working with a U.S.-based adoption agency, and they’ve narrowed the search to Ghana or Ethiopia – the same country where Scarlett’s mom, Melanie, recently adopted a baby girl.

I’m glad she decided to go with an African baby. I’m sure her stylist already told her, but the Chinese ones are way too yellow for her skin tone and complexion. She should definitely stick with mocha or espresso colored babies if she ever plans on wearing red again. You don’t want your accessory orphan clashing with your own natural hue!

  1. That is great!

Adopting exotic “pets” is fashionable, rite? Hypocrite! Whats wrong with white kids, ha? Bitch…

  3. Yep

So sick of these celebrity fucks and this kinda bullshit. There are thousands of orphan babies RIGHT HERE IN AMERICA that need families. But i guess them already being black isn’t exotic enuff, you gotta go half way round the world to go swoop one up. Fuck outta here.

But with all that said i would pound her ovaries into dust….bitch is fine as shit.

  4. Good for her, she’s like angelina jolie huh! That is great since there are a lot of people particularly children in africa that really needs help. Go for it!

Anyone responding negatively to this decision is completely unaware of the adoption situation in the US and in third world countries. You have no idea what you are talking about, and are either racist or simply stupid enough to post an uninformed comment. I have seen dying children that would not survive without a willing adoptive parent. Wake up. Besides all that, it’s her life, her decision, so shut the fuck up. What have you done lately to make a difference in someones life.

  6. Yep

NVMD, lol wtf are you even rambling about?

I could almost hear those tears dropping on your keyboard as you typed all that vague shit.

Wow. Talk about a lot of nasty posters. Adopting a child…whether you are a celebrity or not…is not like buying a new handbag. It’s a major commitment. For those of you asking her to adopt in the USA, I agree…lotsa kids here need families. But UNFORTUNATELY, the US adoption laws are no where near as permanent as adopting from abroad. In other words, if the birth mother changes her mind, a fight will ensue. I am personally a single white female currently in the adoption process from Africa, as well. If any of you boneheads would have looked into it before posting, you would understand why. 1) No mother to come after me in three years and say she made a mistake. 2) Children who have much fewer long-term mental health issues than those who’ve been passed around through the ugly American system for years and years before finally becoming eligible to be adopted. Before all of you naysayers blast everyone doing something good in the world, look in the mirror and ask yourself what you did for a homeless child today. And if you did more than Ms. Johanson is trying to do…then, and only then, can you bitch. And that includes the writer of this article.
