Paula Abdul Has “Technical Difficulties”

Paula Abdul and her people are insisting that the “American Idol” judge’s bizarre behavior in a string of televised interviews last week is just “much ado about nothing.” (If you didn’t hit up the link in the Quickies on Monday — for shame – then click here for the clip from the Fox News interview). People magazine reports:

Appearing on “The Tonight Show” on Monday, [Paula said] “I did one of those press junkets where you’re in that one little room and there are 30 cities talking into your ear… so I’m answering questions to the wrong answers of the cities. So they’re going, ‘What the heck … what is she saying?’” Abdul made another strange appearance on a local Seattle station in which she swayed, bobbed and winked at the anchors. When asked what she was looking forward to on the new season of Idol, Abdul responded: “How about a lot of you coming in. It’s a wild party where you are.” Abdul also made [an additional] odd appearance on the San Francisco area station KTVU during which the anchor asked her, “Do you always wiggle around that much? You’re just wiggling around.” Abdul laughed and answered, “I’m a dancer.”

Abdul’s spokesman [claimed] the incidents are “really much ado about nothing” — when asked whether the Idol judge was drinking or under the influence of drugs during the appearances [he responded]: “Absolutely not.”

“Absolutely not.” That’s right. She has a prescription for the Xanax and the Vicodin, so she’s really on a physician-mandated regiment for her health and not just plain old-fashioned fucked up all the time. Besides, it doesn’t really count as “under the influence” if you actually have a prescription for all your pills. At least, that’s what I tried to tell the officer at the booking station while they were dumping my OxyContin into little baggies marked as “evidence.” “But I have a prescription for those right here!,” I implored him as I thrust the slip of paper on his desk. And he slipped on a pair of bifocals and inspected the prescription and then said, “Ma’am, you misspelled ‘OxyContin;’ the closest Mayo Clinic is in Rochester; and this ‘prescription’ is written on the back of a receipt for condoms and Cheez Whiz purchased four days ago.” So then I panicked and said, “Wait – but I’m a dancer!” And I started wiggling around and winking frantically at the officers before they put me in isolation for psychiatric evaluation. See? Like I told you. Much ado about nothing.

More of Paula at the YMA Fashion Show in New York City after the jump.

Oshkosb’turkishprostitute, you are hilarious and I love your name.

She does have legit, painful physical ailment that she has medicine for, but she’s clearly moved beyond “prescription” to “pfucked up.”
