Barbara Walters vs Star Jones

Barbara Walters was on Oprah on Tuesday promoting her autobiography “Audition,” in which she admits to having an affair with a married senator in the seventies and being made to lie about her “View” co-host Star Jones’ gastric bypass surgery. ABC News quotes Barbara as saying:
“[Star] decided to have a gastric bypass operation, but then she decided not to tell anybody. Then we had to lie on the set every day because she said it was portion control and Pilates. Well, we knew it wasn’t portion control and Pilates.”
Star Jones’ reaction (via Us Weekly) was decidedly pissy:
“It is a sad day when an icon like Barbara Walters, in the sunset of her life, is reduced to publicly branding herself as an adulterer, humiliating an innocent family with accounts of her illicit affair and speaking negatively against me all for the sake of selling a book. It speaks to her true character.”
I’m sorry, Star, but that’s incorrect. The correct answer would have been to exclaim “I’m gonna snatch yo triflin’ bitch-ass bald-headed and bust out all yo fronts,” then hand your boyfriend your jewelery and kick off your shoes and go straight for the weave. Seriously, has she ever watched an episode of “Springer?” Sounds like Star needs to brush up on the basics!

What is wrong with Barbara Walters??? Have you EVER seen a woman more proud of being the woman who a man cheated on his wife with? What is she thinking? That it’s cute? This woman is very powerful and could have any man she wanted, and SHE WANTED SOMEONE ELSE’S HUSBAND. I really feel for that wife. How could she possibly compete against Barbara Walters?

I could see how it would bother Barbara to lie everyday about Star’s weight loss, given how moral she is and all. Oh how the senators wife must have felt when Barbara (being the truthful citizen she is) called her evertime and told her where, when, and how long she had screwed her husband. I always liked Barbara, but now that I know she touched another womans husband with the intentions other than friendship and wrote about it—- I no longer have any respect for her.

Please like Barbara is scared of Star’s ass. She could have told the truth if she wanted to. Seems like she has become really good at that lately….

Barbara Walter’s life was influenced greatly by her older sister and she’s written a beautiful memoir about her life. I read another memoir of a life influence by a sibling that I recommend highly - I actually liked it even more. The memoir is “”My Stroke of Insight”" by Dr. Jill Bolte Taylor. Dr Taylor became a Harvard brain scientist to find the cause and cure for schizophrenia because her older brother was a sufferer. Then, crazy as life can be, Dr. Taylor had a stroke at age 37. What was amazing was that her left brain was shut down by the stroke - where language and thinking occur - but her right brain was fully functioning. She experienced bliss and nirvana and the way she writes about it (or talks about it in her now famous TED talk) is incredible.
What I took away from Dr. Taylor’s book above all, and why I recommend it so highly, is that you don’t have to have a stroke or take drugs to find the deep inner peace that she talks about. Her book explains how. “”I want what she’s having”", and thanks to this wonderful book, I can!
