LeAnn Rimes made sure to let the media know that she checked herself into rehab yesterday to deal with the “anxiety and stress” issues in her life. Somewhere, Amy Winehouse just rolled her eyes and snorted with disgust. People Magazine says:
“LeAnn has voluntarily entered a 30 day in-patient treatment facility to cope with anxiety and stress,” her rep Marcel Parisea [said].
“While there will be speculation regarding her treatment, she is simply there to learn and develop coping mechanisms. While privacy isn’t expected, it’s certainly appreciated.”
Though Rimes has been the victim of body bullying in the past, her rep confirms she is not seeking treatment for an eating disorder or substance abuse.
“This is just a time for me to emotionally check out for a second and take care of myself and come back in 30 days as the best 30-year-old woman I can be,” LeAnn said.
Well, I’m glad to see she’s finally taking a little time for herself. Who KNOWS how long it’s been since she’s done that. Between all the vacations and tweeting and having her likeness made in fondant, life can really get overwhelming sometimes.
