Extra’s Maria Menounos revealed on the Howard Stern show yesterday that she had been molested by more than one doctor. Well, that’s HMO’s for you. The Daily Mail says:
The 34-year-old told the shock jock she had gone in to be treated for a throat problem, and could not believe it when the doctor began touching her genitals.
She said: ‘I was just so uncomfortable I didn’t know what to do.’
In fact it was not the only time she claims to have been touched inappropriately by medical staff.
Maria accused other physicians, including male gynecologists, saying they complimented her belly button ring and then touched it.
After her ordeals the presenter says she is now scared to go into examination rooms alone.
Now, whenever she needs treatment for any ailment she requests her boyfriend accompanies her into the exam room.
If you’ve never had the misfortune of having a male doctor give you a gynecological exam, it’s terrible enough without him fondling your navel jewelery and complementing your personal grooming habits. There’s nothing like making polite conversation with a gentleman you just met while he’s two knuckles deep and staring you in the eye with an intensity usually reserved for telekinesis or declarations of sworn vengeance against your family. I’ll take my chances with cervical cancer, thank you very much.

1.)….a woman’s throat and her genitals are frequently subjected to contagions from the same source…..
2.) She’s hot and (semi) famous…….and many medical practices are limiting financial compensation to their staff…..so perquisites are sometimes necessary….
3.) Usually there is a nurse present for examination…..though there has been an influx of male nurses into the industry……if one can believe one’s Cinemax movies….
