Miley Cyrus does her best slutty vulture/medieval peacock/Britney Spears impression in her latest video “Can’t Be Tamed.” I guess footage of her beating Hannah Montana with a lead pipe got kinda redundant after the first two minutes. The Daily Mail says
Taking cues from Britney Spears and Lady Gaga, the young singer parades around in hotpants and plunging corsets as she puts on a brief pole-dancing show.
Miley hinted that the video mirrors her desire to break out of the constraints of playing her squeaky clean Disney character.
She said: ‘[The song] is about [me wanting] to be free and do what I love. I want to make the movies or make the music I want. It’s not a new Miley, its just a new part of me.
There’s nothing in the video for me that I wouldn’t be proud for my family to see. I think they can all watch it.”

Miley Cyrus is goregous. And yeah, actually she can act, shes insanley good at it. She an amazing singer too. And this new video is wonderful. She’s 17 years old. most 17 year olds are out drinking and doing drugs. in comparison to other 17 year old, this does not show her as a slut and you people are stupid.
I think it’s sad that this is what youth today have to look up to. This is one of our role models??? I would think somebody in that position would take young girls into consideration before putting out a video like this. Because young girls are going to do what the media is telling them is cool. And I’m pretty sure that most parents don’t want their teenage kids out sleeping around as portrayed in this video, “anything goes and I can’t be satisfied with one guy.”
you are all just haters and just follow everyone else’s opinion. she is a talented and smart individual. leave her alone and get along with your lives and you all need to stop following other people who are also followers. you may have your opinions, but you don’t have to blow them out of proportion.
I personally think it’s sad that she’s taken her career in this direction. I understand wanting to break free from being a disney princess, but this video is not the way to do it. It just makes her look like a wannabe Britney Spears…whom she mentions in her other song, party in the USA.

I actually like the song, and the video is fine too. but this is MILEY CYRUS. My 2 little sisters LOVE her and watch her every move. I wouldn’t really want them to see this video and still consider her their role model.
The video is fine, considering all the other music videos out there, but i dont think its really right for a disney channel star to be portraying herself in this way, considering her previous audience.
Honestly, I like the singing and most parts of the video. I think she just wants to have fun and do what she wants to do. Theres nothing wrong with that now is there? She’s what? 17? She can drive (hopefully), and do a lot more things normal 17yr olds can’t. She has money, she has family that cares about her. She doesn’t necessarily have to worry about anything, other than Disney maybe cancelling her contract or something. She role models for, I’m guessing around 13-15 girls now, and some dudes. Before, she was a role model to 8-12yr olds. Just leave her alone. Half the time, opinions do matter, half the time, they don’t. So it’s kinda 50-50 here. Just leave it where it is.
No matter what Miley thinks she needs to put out there to tell the press and papparazzi, she has to know that little girls are watching this, looking up to Miley. Alright. First. I’m 17 years old and I would never act like this. I take pride in the fact that I’m not sexually trying to attract four million males or females. I also take pride in the fact that I don’t drink or party or do drugs, I am the clean kind of teenager she “doesn’t want to be.”
Second. I think Miley Cyrus could be a very pretty girl if she’d stop trying to act like trash. I’m not really a fan of her music or television show but that’s because I have no real interest in her. I only jumped in because you are judging other 17 year old for what she is doing. I personally don’t believe EVERY 17 year old is worse than her. I believe that, in this video, she is portraying a role that isn’t her and she knows it. I figure in reality, Miley isn’t really like this person and doesn’t really want this image because this image is portrayed as her being an absolute slut.
Finally, adults who have no contact with any sort of teenage world and know nothing about what we do on a normal basis can’t judge Miley or anyone else her age. SO the 50 year old moms who sit and say “Wow. Miley Cyrus, what a slut. I’m sooo glad my kids aren’t like that.” ONE. Your kid is probably just like this especially if you are sitting on the internet all day snooping on pop stars. And TWO. Leave Miley alone. I have to agree with the person above me. However, Miley.. you know that in signing a contract with Disney, children are going to be watching you. And after becoming famous, only more people are going to watch you. You don’t like that younger kids look up to you? More than half your fans are kids less than half your age, and like it or not they look up to you and are influenced by you. You may not be the innocent person people think you are (were), but that doesn’t mean you have to go make music videos like this. And yes, we all have seen those pictures of you pulling your shirts up and what not, and we know that you are sort of embarrassed about it. And in some way it sort of all makes sense. You take pictures of yourself, you can’t justify the pictures, you talk about how you aren’t innocent and you don’t want people to think you are, BECAUSE you’re embarrassed, and there really was no excuse for what you’ve been doing…so THEN you make a music video out of rage and embarrassment not “caring” what people think of you. When well…you obviously do because you made that video. And then some Perez Hilton guy snaps a picture of your private area because you couldn’t be bothered to slip on a thong (at least) or some undies. He was sick to do that, but don’t put yourself in a position where people CAN do that to you. You’re smarter than that…And to Emily, yeah parents would be upset about these comments..but if you really were parenting your kids, you would know what to do in order to prevent these kinds of comments (yeah, people get commented no matter what, but come on.. the comments could be at least a little less mean and about her hair being oily..right?)
