A video of Saved by the Bell’s Lisa Turtle went viral a few months back because she’d Sammy Sosa-d herself with so much makeup and bleaching cream that she was unrecognizable and reeking of crazy. People magazine says:
Former teen star Lark Voorhies denies anything is wrong, but some questioned whether drugs played a role. Voorhies adamantly denied it. Instead, her mother says, she has been diagnosed with bipolar disorder.
In a series of interviews with PEOPLE, it was clear something wasn’t right. Voorhies, 38, would frequently stop mid-sentence and stare off, often mumbling to herself or to others who weren’t there.
Voorhies says she is not sick, and… [as for] the vacant stares and rambling moments?
“I have a strong spiritual sense,” she says. “You caught me in moments of prayer [sic].”
Oh, I am totally recycling that moment of prayer line. No, your honor, I wasn’t passed out behind the wheel — I was caught in a moment of spiritual meditation. No, officer, I’m on my knees behind this park bathroom because I was about to pray for this young man right here. No, Mr. Dinkleberg, I’m not sleeping under my desk — I’m communing with my Savior. Nobody ever wants to step on Jesus’ toes!
