Although Natalie Portman gave birth nearly three weeks ago, the name of her new baby boy was never released to the media until yesterday — they’ve named the poor bastard Aleph. Probably because “Leave Aleph alone!” has a nice alliterative ring to it. People magazine says:
Aleph is the first letter of the Hebrew alphabet, much like alpha is the first letter of the Greek alphabet. Aleph is the number 1 in Hebrew and can also be spelled “alef.”
Its esoteric meaning in Judaic Kabbalah relates to the origin of the universe, the “primordial one that contains all numbers.”
Ah, pretentious AND dorky. I guess naming him “Taliesin” after Frank Lloyd Wright’s summer home just wasn’t quite pedantic enough and “Merlin” and “Leopold” were just too clichéd.

After being pregnant for what seemed like forever, Natalie Portman finally cranked out a baby boy this week. People Magazine says:
It’s been a big year for Natalie Portman: an engagement, an Oscar and now a baby!
The actress and fiancé Benjamin Millepied have welcomed a son.
And that’s it. We don’t know what day she actually gave birth, or where she gave birth, or the child’s given name. Even Bigfoot has been sighted under less mysterious circumstances.

Accusations of homewrecking are being slung today — and surprisingly, Sienna Miller’s name hasn’t come up once. This time, it’s Natalie Portman who’s being labeled as a hussy for swooping in and snatching up Benjamin Millepied, the New York City Ballet dancer who choreographed her new movie “The Black Swan.” The NY Post says
“[Natalie and Benjamin have] been dating since the fall, although she hasn’t gone public with it because… Ben had a live-in girlfriend of three years when they met, a ballerina at the American Ballet Theater,” [says a friend]. “She had been talking about marrying him and was blindsided by the split.”
A spokeswoman for Portman said, “We have no comment about her personal life.”
I can’t believe the girl who played Queen Amidala of the Naboo would ever do something like this. Star in “Episode I,” I mean. Some sins against humanity are just unforgivable.
