A mistrial was declared yesterday in the John Travolta extortion case because of reported jury misconduct. If you don’t recall, two ambulance drivers were accused of trying to extort $25 million from John after the death of his 16-year old son Jett earlier this year. TMZ says
Justice Anita Allen released the jury and declared a mistrial after learning that a member of Parliament announced at a political convention that defendant Pleasant Bridgewater — a former Senator — had been acquitted by the jury.
It’s unclear if jurors had actually reached a verdict. There’s an unconfirmed report that one of the jurors may have communicated information to the Parliament member who spoke out.
Travolta’s rep issued the following statement:
“We are disappointed to hear about the alleged juror misconduct since we know that the Bahamian government, the court, the other jurors and John Travolta as the victim want to have this matter adjudicated through the judicial system. Mr. Travolta has and will continue to cooperate with the Bahamian authorities in the prosecution of the defendants for extortion.”
In more interesting news, if your body temperature were 86 degrees, you could live to be 200; most car horns honk in the key of F; and bats always turn left when exiting a cave. God, the gossip today sucks.

Hello, my lovelies. It’s Sarah today, and I’ll be with you all week whilst Abby attends a special training camp to perfect her nude human cannonball. Anyway, I went out Saturday night and didn’t get home until 8:05am today, so I’m feeling the effects of my weekend right now. How about you look at some pictures of pretty people with tiny tots, and I’ll go mainline some caffeine?

Annoyingly cute singer Gwen Stefani has given birth to a son, Zuma Nesta Rock Rossdale. Yeah, I know. Zuma Nesta? Isn’t that the name of some sleeping pill? I don’t know about you, but I wouldn’t want my son’s name to conjure up images of some creepy green glowing moth invading my room. NineMSN reports,
Zuma Nesta Rock Rossdale weighed in at a healthy 8.5 pounds. Mum and baby are both “happy and healthy” says a publicist from the hospital.
Zuma is Gwen’s second child with husband Gavin Rossdale, the couple already have a two-year-old son, Kingston.
If you ever wake up in the middle of the night to the soft fluttering of moth wings over your mouth, don’t say I didn’t warn you.

Singer Gwen Stefani is reportedly three month’s pregnant with husband Gavin Rossdale’s child. London’s The Sun says
Gwen Stefani has confirmed she is 13 weeks pregnant with bambino number two. A source said: “They found out at California’s Cedars-Sinai hospital and couldn’t wait to share the news with everyone.”
Anything that keeps her out of the studio is fine by me. A baby, a tumor, a bear, whatever. Just no more “Hollaback Girl” or lifting from “The Sound of Music.” I swear you could use those songs like Chinese water torture to get terrorists to confess every detail of their plots to take down the U.S. Headlines would read: “Great Satan Saved By Great Escape” and “Gwen Stefani Winds It Down!” That’s of course when we start praying for the bear or the tumor again and hope for a little divine intervention.
