Country singer Mindy McCready opened up about her affair with then-married ball player Roger Clemens in her first interview since being released from jail two weeks ago. But McCready — who has been arrested six times and tried to kill herself twice in the last four years, by the way — told Inside Edition a different story than the one she told the NY Daily news half a year earlier. According to E! Online

In an interview with Inside Edition, McCready says her alleged affair with the baseball star ended because she wanted him to leave his wife Debbie, [saying] “I wanted him to, after all that time, do the right thing by me. And, Roger is loyal and dedicated to his family…and so I ended it.”

But the singer told the New York Daily News she “never wanted to marry” Clemens.

“He should have done right by his family—if a person is unhappy in their marriage and spending all their personal time with someone else, you need to do right by your marriage,” she told the newspaper. “He should have just told Debbie and been honest with her. If he didn’t want to be with her and wanted to be with me, he should have told her.”

In her defense, remembering is hard when you’re only operating with 37% of your original brain cells and 60% liver function. That’s why I usually duct tape my car keys to my leg when I go out.
