You can put her in couture on the cover of Vogue magazine, but Kate Upton is still just the poor man’s Anna Nicole Smith. No amount of eyebrow pencil or hair gel will ever convince me otherwise!

Kate Upton’s photo shoot in the June issue of Vogue has a real “Eva Herzigova in her Wonderbra heyday” look about it, and it really works for her. It’s a lot better than her photo shoot for V magazine, which had more of a “would you like us to stay on the line until help arrives” feel to it.

The Metropolitan Museum of Art hosted its annual Costume Institute Gala Benefit last night, and this year’s theme was “PUNK: Chaos to Couture.” Or as I like to call it, “Posers on Parade.” You should have no problem finding their queen. She’s wearing the traditional plumed mohawk headpiece and everything.

Sports Illustrated swimsuit covergirl Kate Upton has animal rights activists all up in arms this week after newly-released pics from her photo shoot for Harper’s Bazaar show her posing with a three-month-old tiger cub and a baby gibbon. PETA said in a statement:

All the animals in the photographs are endangered and should be protected, rather than being treated like props.

Wild animals used for photo shoots have been taken away from their mothers at birth and deprived of everything that is natural and important to them. The gibbon featured in the photographs is an infant and should be with his mother at all times. Besides the emotional trauma that he has undoubtedly suffered as a result of the separation, his delicate immune system is still developing, and he is susceptible to illnesses that humans carry.

Except all the animals featured in the shoot were not actually “ripped from their mothers” like PETA suggested, but “[human-reared] from day one because their mothers rejected them,” according to the Miami-based Zoological Wildlife Foundation which provided them. Additionally, the animals were accompanied by professional licensed handlers at all times and even had their own air-conditioned trailer, and at no point were they eaten by a parent, trampled by an elephant, starved, sick or dehydrated. As far as those things go, that’s a pretty darn good day for a tiger.

Samsung inadvertently let it slip that Sports Illustrated model Kate Upton will be gracing the cover of Vogue magazine’s June issue. The Daily Mail says:

The Sport’s Illustrated Swimsuit Edition cover girl will be in New York to promote Samsung’s Spring TV launch next week, and the company sent a press release that uncovered the confidential news.

‘Kate Upton can chat about her upcoming Vogue cover in June, where she’s taking her bikini for Spring Break after shooting the SI cover in Antarctic…and maybe do the Dougie!’ the email stated.

I could practically hear the organ grinder when I read that. Get in the cage and dance, monkey! Dance!
